Toyota’s new Crown Sedan: Hybrid/Hydrogen, expected to be introduced in China next year

The shape of the whole vehicle has a "crown head + Mirai body" sewing feeling. Although the overall ratio is slender and well-proportioned, and you can feel the tradition of front and rear driving in the same vein, the overall effect is still not particularly outstanding, but it is more in line with the imagination of Japanese users for decent private cars.

As a medium and large car, the Crown Sedan has a length, width and height of 5030/1890/1470mm, and a wheelbase of 3000mm. Except for a slightly narrower width than some European and domestic cars, the rest are standard C-class level. Compared with the second-generation Mirai of the same platform, the car is 56mm longer and the wheelbase is also increased by 81mm, which can provide more abundant rear space.

The interior design is the same as the rest of the Crown family, but for a retro aesthetic, the central passageway features extensive mahogany trim and a lid for the vertical cup holder. Officials created more than 200 prototype parts to achieve the three-dimensional effect of laminated wood.

The new car comes standard with a 12.3-inch LCD meter and a 12.3-inch center touch screen. The power supply is available in HEV/FCEV versions. The former refers to the 2.5L + THS hybrid system of Crown SportCross, while the latter shares three hydrogen storage tanks, a fuel cell, rear motor and 1.24kWh lithium battery with the second-generation Mirai. The power output can reach 134kW and 300N · m. (Graphic: Provided by Toyota)
