Do a good job of "six guarantees" and implement "six guarantees": the Ministry of Commerce takes three measures to stabilize foreign trade

CCTV News:Stabilizing foreign trade and foreign investment is an important part of comprehensively doing the work of "six guarantees" and implementing the task of "six guarantees". The State Council Office held a press conference this morning (18th). Minister of Commerce Zhong Shan said that the global COVID-19 epidemic has spread, and the demand in the international market has indeed dropped sharply. China’s foreign trade has indeed faced unprecedented challenges this year, and the Ministry of Commerce will take three measures to stabilize foreign trade.

Zhongshan said that first of all, we must help enterprises tide over the difficulties. Affected by the epidemic, enterprises are facing difficulties such as tight capital, falling orders and rising risks in industrial chain and supply chain.

Zhong Shan emphasized that the government also actively helped foreign trade enterprises to export to domestic sales after the export was blocked and lagged behind. In April, the export to domestic sales increased by 17%, which shows that high-quality foreign trade products are also welcomed by domestic consumers.

At the same time, it is necessary to consolidate the traditional market and open up new markets. Although the total import and export volume decreased by 4.9% in the first four months, the trade of countries along the Belt and Road has risen against the trend, and the proportion has also increased greatly. ASEAN has now become China’s largest trading partner. While expanding exports, we should also actively expand imports to prepare for the third China International Import Expo(CIIE). In addition, it is necessary to cultivate new trade formats and new models.
